DESCRIPTION:
-Build the tallest structure made out of plastic straws and two feet of tape in 30 minutes that must stands on its own.
BRAINSTORM:
-Eiffel Tower design with three trapezoid sides for support
-strong supports
-save tape by plucking some off from straws from the previous groups
-build a super strong straw by stuffing straws inside straws. This also saves tape.
PROCEDURE:
-Started off with each person building a side of the base of the tower, each tower shaped like a trapezoid.Â
-then we built a pyramid on top of the base and started taping them together.
-we then added a long, skinny tower of straws stuffed inside of straws to make it stronger.
SOUL REFLECTIONS:
S-The base worked and was stable when it stood up on its own.
O-what didn't work is that the tower made of straws shown on the left was limping a little bit, so we added another straw to stabilize it.
U-We learned that teamwork makes the dream work.
L- Nothing really held us back from having a successful project as we worked great as a team and listened to ideas.
WISCR- I think that the I in WISCR really applied to our team as we accepted and thought of a lot of ideas. For example, copying the Eiffel towers design was one of the ideas as it is very tall but withstands against strong winds.
