INSTRUCTIONS: On this project, we have to 3d design and print two animals with a cork as it's body. You can not copy an animal that you did not design.
BRAINSTORM: In order to put the cork onto the animal, we have to make rings. Using the caliber, I can measure the cork size and make the rings. On the left, is my first attempt at making the rings. It fit perfectly. After figuring out the measurements, I decided to make a dog and a cat sitting down because my favorite pet is a dog and the cat reminds me of a friend.
PROCEDURE: I started to design my dog first and decided that for my cat, I will just make the tail a bit longer and curve it upwards. I added some shades for the dog and crowns for both of my animals. After adding the ring to my design, making a few adjustments, I placed the upper body of the dog and cat lying on the base and printed.
S: I think I did a great job of designing the animals and also getting the correct measurements for the ring.
O: Something that I thought I can really improve on is making the animals a bit more different.
U: In this project, I learned how to use a caliber and how to add supports to my 3d design.
L: Some limitations I encountered in this project is the size since each piece of your animal should at most be 2 inches.
WISCR: I think the I(insightful and critical thinkers) and S(Self-motivated individuals) in WISCR applied in this project because I solved a lot of problems while doing this project and I set my goal pretty high by trying to design the animal without a reference picture.
