New Display Table
Thank you to our PTO for purchasing a new 3-tiered display table for our library! This will give us an opportunity to showcase even more books centered around a theme or subject.
Cookbooks
Cookbooks are a popular choice in our library. Many students grabbed books and tried out different recipes this quarter.
One student even made us a Halloween treat - a cake baked in a cauldron!
4th Grade Scavenger Hunt
Finding books in a big new library can be difficult, so students in 4th grade library class participated in a scavenger hunt designed to help them understand how our library is organized. Students worked in groups to locate specific shelves in the library. Then, they scanned QR codes that gave them a word clue. At the end of the hunt, all the words created a special message that Professor Dumbledore says in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.
"Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open."
--Prof. Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Students in Mrs. Lestitian's 6th grade social studies classes participated in an end-of-unit escape room activity using the library's breakout kits. Students used clues about Mesopotamia to determine the codes to unlock the kit.
We got SO MANY new books in this quarter!!
Check out some of the featured books below to help you find your next read!

Fitting in amongst the many privileged students within the ivy-covered walls of Lovelace Academy presents challenges unlike the ones Lainey has faced in the past. Terrified she'll be cast out of the academy, Lainey grabs at her chance to prove herself by traveling to Switzerland to meet a female scientist crafting a groundbreaking theory.
Determined to prove her capability and reach her destination, Lainey must rely on her own wit--as well as a mysterious boy who has yet to prove himself as friend or foe. But the real test is what awaits her in Switzerland, at the home of Mileva Maric, wife of Albert Einstein.
