7th Grade Artists learned how to use THE ELEMENTS OF ART to fool the eye and trick the brain with these wild Optical Illusion drawings.
7th Grade Artists learned a variety of printmaking techniques through sea creature designs. The students transferred sketches that emphasized TEXTURES with sea creature themes to linoleum blocks and carved the designs out to create a relief plate. Students then learned how to use brayers to roll ink and burnishers to complete their prints onto new surfaces!
7th Grade Artists learned how to create and identify value after building legos and drawing from observation using only one color, showing values from light to dark.
They were to then create a 3D cube using one color and only black and white, mixing the correct tints and shades to make the cube look realistic.
First semester students added a Pop Art drawing inspired by the artist Burton Morris along with their painted 3D cube.
7th graders were to research an architectural building, choosing parts of the structure they like. Then they were to research a clay slab house, choosing what they like about the artwork.
Using all of their new ideas, they were to create an original structure using their knowledge of building with clay
(slab, coil, handbuilding, score, and slip).
