Using Vincent Van Gogh's famous painting The Starry Night as inspiration, each EJD artist created their own star to represent themselves. The Starry Night painting is a symbol of HOPE, showing how even in the darkest of nights, once can find light to guide you.
Students create their stars to answer the following questions:
WHAT MAKES YOU SHINE?! WHAT BRINGS YOU HOPE?!
Our swirling skies set over the Phoenix landscape show how bright EJD can be when we all let our light shine!Â
At our art show on May 17th we sold raffle tickets for two large ceramic bowls and did a cash/carry sale for student created wheel thrown bowls and themed drape molds. Thank you to everyone who supported the arts and our community cause!Â
EJD Art Club meets once a month for various art activities. We celebrated Youth Art Month by doing art related games and projects every week during the month of March. This year's projects included painting winter village scenes on the cafeteria windows, painting giant Keith Haring figures, fall and halloween themed art, winter polar bears, painting floral windows and creating other art to brighten up the hallways of EJD!Â
