Major Deadlines
(For documents to be sent by the counselor)
September 30 – For students who apply Early Decision/Early Action or rolling admission and need materials sent before November 1.
December – The month FAFSA and PhEAA applications are open. For best results, be sure to complete these applications and the CSS Profile as soon as possible. Check out the financial aid websites of individual schools for due dates. Due dates are generally the late-winter.
October 31 – For students who are applying Early Decision/Early Action or rolling admission who need materials mailed before November 15.
November 15 – For students who apply to Penn State University- University Park, the priority deadline (November 30) gives students the best chance to be accepted by the university for this location.
December 1 – If an application has a deadline of January 1 or earlier, students must submit requests no later than December 1. This is a very busy time. We need the time before winter break to process the volume of requests in a timely and accurate manner.
January 18 – Deadline to submit most college applications. Submission after this date may delay acceptance at rolling admissions schools.
May 1 - Most schools require students to make a final decision and pay a tuition deposit by May 1. Making the decision to attend a school after May 1, may mean the admissions offer will be rescinded by the school.
For all applications
When students request information that will be handled by the counselor (this includes applications and scholarship forms), two weeks must be allowed (vacation days not included) to complete paperwork. Please plan ahead to avoid missing deadlines.
School Code/Counselor Information – It is very important you list the correct school and counselor information on your applications. There are other schools in Pennsylvania with names similar to Northeast High School. If you list the school or your counselor incorrectly, your application may be delayed.
