Final Steps

  • Write a thank you note to your teachers for their efforts on your behalf!

  • Complete all financial aid forms early (FAFSA, PhEAA, CSS Profile). Students who complete financial aid forms early may have the chance for more free money. For example: Completing these forms for Penn State before December 1 gives applications access to the maximum amount of possible financial aid.

  • Check out Naviance and the NEHS Counselors website to identify and apply to at least four scholarships, for example, Raise.me, the Wolf Scholarship and the Philadelphia City Scholarship. Signing up for Scholly or Going Merry are recommended. Be aware of how to apply for full-tuition scholarships like the Drexel Liberty Scholarship or the Coolidge Scholarship.

Finally: If you don’t know...ask. Many answers can be found by searching on the internet or asking your counselor. Don’t be shy. You are in charge of the process.
