The Community Autism Peer Specialist (CAPS) Training is accepting applications on a rolling basis until all slots are filled! The training provides the knowledge, skills, and credentials to work as a CAPS in Pennsylvania delivering peer support services. The training focuses on self-advocacy, empowerment, and community inclusion as core values. The Philadelphia Autism Project staff is happy to help you with completing your application, if you run into any questions or difficulties!

The A.J. Drexel Autism Institute is proud to partner with the Academy of Natural Sciences for more sensory-friendly Covid-19 vaccination clinics starting on Sunday, February 13 from 9 - 11am.

Sunray Pharmacy will be administering first and second doses to anyone 5 and older, and booster doses for those who are eligible. Though walk-ins are welcome, registration for all participating family members is encouraged. You can register here.
The vaccine clinic will provide participating families with a visual schedule and social stories, as well as quiet rooms for those who need them. To the extent that it is possible, the environment will be sensory-friendly, and our expert staff and our volunteers have been trained to assist children with sensory issues.
Families should access the vaccine clinic through the 19th Street entrance of the Academy. Each child receiving the vaccine and one parent will get free entry to the museum, which will open for visitors at 9AM. Following the Philadelphia Department of Public Health and City guidelines, the Academy of Natural Sciences requires all patrons to wear a mask.
