The Pre-Apprenticeship course is offered to member companies as an introductory course designed to help students diversify their skill-set as helpers, and prepare for success in a suitable training program. The course offers a more in-depth introduction into principles, soft skills, safety, science & math, plumbing or HVACR systems, and gas, including gas fixtures.

This course is a tool for employers to identify skill-sets and direct suitable career path based on interest, ability, and commitment.
Who should take this course?
The course is designed for individuals are interested in entering the trade and pursuing a p-h-c career path. Participants will gain knowledge to be trained as entry-level technicians to be productive helpers, and assist in determining an appropriate career path.
How are the courses offered?
The full course is offered through the PHCC Academy, a web-based learning management system which is easy to access and use.
How long does the course take to complete?
The course is a self-paced 7-module course. Course access is available for 120 days. Upon completion, participants will be able to download their transcript and certificate.
How does this relate to laws and regulations in Louisiana for plumbing?
This course is not part of the full indentured plumbing apprenticeship. It is a tool to help a participant determine their path in the industry, as well as provide a base education for those registering with the SPBLA as unindentured apprenticeship.
How do participants enroll?
Complete the sign up form linked below. Upon verifying the participant's employment with a member in good standing, our PHCCLA team will process the enrollment and the participant will receive an email from PHCC Academy allowing them access to start the course.
