Mission Statement

The DMA Leadership Team provides a sense of unity for all academy students that is built around a shared passion for digital media.  The team supports, encourages, and celebrates DMA students in all areas of academic life by helping them to express themselves creatively and to participate in industry-related experiences.  We will plan and implement activities that give DMA students a chance to work collaboratively with all grade levels to develop unity and communication skills.


DMA Leadership Positions

President: The President reports to the Academy Coordinator and works closely with the Vice President and all Academy department leaders to make important decisions. The president runs the monthly meetings and plans all events. Potential candidates must have very good delegation, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Secretary/Newsletter: The Secretary develops the monthly newsletter and take notes during the leadership meetings. Potential candidates must have solid grammar and writing skills, be a diligent proofreader, a proficient listener, and have good communication skills. 

Webmaster: The Webmaster updates and maintains the academy. They are also responsible for assisting the publicity group in creating electronic flyers for monthly meetings and events. Potential candidates should have some experience with web-based applications. 

Strong Second: the Strong Second Serves as assistant to and/or co-lead with the other members of the leadership team. They assist with various responsibilities and provide support for other team members as needed. They must be creative, supportive, and possess good communication and problem-solving skills, and be an excellent collaborator. On short notice, they must be ready to assume the responsibilities of any other leadership team members.



Vice President: The Vice President reports to the Academy Coordinator and is required to assist the President. Both individuals co-lead the academy and share similar roles by dividing the responsibilities as necessary. The VP will assume the role of the President in their absence. Potential candidates must also have very good delegation, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

Treasurer: The Treasurer reports to the President, VP, and Academy Coordinator. The Treasurer is responsible for scheduling workers for food faire and is in charge of overseeing deposits for food faire, fundraisers, and field trips. They oversee food faire once each quarter, and academy merchandise at DMA meetings. Potential candidates must have a flexible schedule, good time-management skills, communication skills, and have experience in handling and managing money. 

Membership Committee Coordinator: The MC² is responsible for managing the monthly meeting attendance and leadership attendance. They also run the monthly meetings and delegate the committee’s responsibilities. Potential candidates must be punctual, have good delegation skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. 

Director of Publicity: The Director of Publicity will report to both President and VP and is responsible for all Publicity Member activities. The DoP is in charge of scheduling meetings with other members to develop all academy posters, flyers, and invitations as needed. Responsibilities also include planning and running the activities/games during monthly meetings. Potential candidates should be artistic and creative, and must possess good communication skills.
