Graduation cord policy
The purpose of a DMA graduation cord is to recognize those students who have successfully completed the academy's 3-course sequence, who have remained in good standing, and who have been active members within the academy.
The course sequence:
Introductory course: Digital Media Arts 1 (10th grade)
Concentrator course: Digital Media Arts 2 (11th grade)
Capstone course: Advanced Media Production and Broadcasting (12th grade)
Good standing: Not actively on probation during the 4th quarter of senior year.
Active Participation: An active member is one who participates regularly in DMA activities. Specifically, the policy requires students to demonstrate minimum participation by:
It is recommended that you attend 2 Academy Events per Semester (e.g., donut socials, movie nights, academy meetings, field trips, and other academy social events as they arise)
To earn this credit toward the graduation cord, your attendance at these events must be recorded by members of the Leadership Team and/or DMA staff.
If you have met the requirement each year, the total number of remaining events you must attend is as follows:
