Members of this committee will assist the physically challenged by transporting them via 4-passenger golf carts to and from designated viewing areas located on the course.

(Your designated entrance will be denoted on your shift schedule. Please note that you may end up working shifts at both entrances throughout the week.)

This committee will assist the PGA Staff in the on-site Admissions Offices. Volunteers will distribute complimentary daily tickets to members of allied associations and specials guests of the event as well as support the ticket system vendor.

This committee will support Caddie Registration Sunday - Tuesday then during the Championship, this committee will be responsible for distributing towels and managing the Bag Check system. During Championship Rounds, Caddie Services Volunteers will assemble, distribute, and collect caddie bibs.

During the week prior to the PGA Championship (known as ‘Advance Week’), Volunteers on this committee will help staff the PGA Championship Office and support PGA Championship Staff with various office projects.

CHECK-IN LOCATION: Concession Ambassador Desk - Volunteer Headquarters

The Concession Ambassador Committee has two roles - Market Ambassador and Water Restocker.
Market Ambassadors will assist with various tasks at the concession Marketplaces, such as greeting spectators, answering questions, and directing patrons. Water Restockers will restock water as part of the Championship Water Inclusive program at assigned locations across the course.

CHECK-IN LOCATION: Contestant Evacuation Desk - Volunteer Headquarters
COMMITTEE CHAIRS: Joe Ryan and Rick Altier
The Contestant Evacuation Committee is responsible for ensuring the safe evacuation of Contestants and Caddies from the golf course, if necessary, during PGA Championship Week. The most common reason for an evacuation is bad weather.

The Contestant Registration Committee is among the first group to interact with the contestants upon their arrival to the Championship. Assembling registration packets and registering contestants for their participation in the Championship are the main responsibilities of this committee.

(NOTE - Your shift schedule will indiciate where you need to check in for your shift.)

Prior to the event, volunteers will distribute the official courtesy vehicles at the airport. During the Championship, volunteers will assist with transportation needs at Oak Hill Country Club. After the Championship volunteers will help collect courtesy vehicles, and drive them to the main pickup location.

Volunteers are responsible for staffing the on-site Information Booth at the Main Entrance, and Satellite Information Stations throughout Championship grounds. Volunteers will answer site related questions for event spectators and guests and will serve as ‘greeters’ welcoming spectators to the event.

COMMITTEE CHAIRS: Sam Arazoza & Michael Hedges
This committee will collect statistical information about each contestant's shots by operating lasers located at landing areas along fairways, and near greens during Championship Rounds. Although two training sessions will be held to properly prepare volunteers on how to operate these devices, it is recommended that volunteers on this committee have a knowledge of golf, and be comfortable using technology.

Area Captains and Hole Captains will check in at the Marshals Desk in Volunteer Headquarters.

HOLE CAPTAINS: Names of your Captains are listed in your Volunteer Profile
When play is on the hole, Marshals manage gallery noise and control the crowd, reminding spectators to stand still and be quiet during player’s shots. Marshals also assist with player movement when entering/exiting the hole, operate spectator crosswalks and enforce the grandstand seating policy. When play is not on the hole, Marshals must also protect the hole by ensuring spectators only use designated crosswalks and continue to enforce the grandstand seating policy.

Members of the Marshal Special Teams will monitor specific areas of the golf course and assist with easing the flow of movement for Players, Caddies, Officials and Media in areas around the Clubhouse and Practice Areas.

This committee will assist the PGA Staff with the preparation of the Media Center prior to the beginning of PGA Championship week. During the PGA Championship, volunteers will be responsible for Media Registration, handling information requests, scoring updates and various other tasks. Volunteers may be scheduled prior to and during PGA Championship week.

CHECK-IN LOCATION: PGA Shops Volunteer Check-In Trailer - Behind the PGA Shops
COMMITTEE CHAIRS: Jed Hanna, Tammie Kelly & Melissa Jacobs
This committee will staff The PGA Shop near the main spectator entrance. Volunteers will greet guests as they enter the shops, stock inventory for the vendors, operate cash registers or bag purchased goods, help with the fitting rooms, or assist the PGA Staff with various tasks as needed. The PGA Championship shop is an extremely busy, fun place to volunteer.

Championship Week - Rope & Stake Desk - Volunteer Headquarters
COMMITTEE CHAIRS: Kevin Morton & Cory Morton
Committee members will assist PGA of America staff members by installing rope and stake on the entire golf course the week before the Championship. This committee will also be responsible for tightening the ropes on each hole every morning of the Championship.

Walking Standard Bearers will be responsible for carrying the standards for each group of Contestants during the Championship Rounds.

This committee will distribute coolers of refreshments throughout the golf course for Contestants, Caddies and Media, replenish product and ice in the coolers throughout the day and collect them upon completion of play each evening. Another task will be to fill and replenish towel buckets with water.

The Ticket & Credential Scanning Committee will scan the tickets or credentials of each and every guest, volunteer, or staff member who enters the PGA Championship Admissions Gates. Being a PGA Ambassador will involve engaging verbally with each guest to create amazing memories and experiences at the 2023 PGA Championship. Volunteers on this committee will display world class customer service with a warm smile, greeting guests in an upbeat, courteous and friendly manner.

Committee members will assist the PGA staff with assembling volunteer credential packets and distributing volunteer uniforms the weekend prior to the PGA Championship. During PGA Championship week, committee members will also staff the volunteer services desk in Volunteer Headquarters and act as ambassadors by assisting volunteers, answering questions they may have and selling remaining uniform items to the volunteers.

Volunteers will be responsible for operating 6-pass golf carts to transport other Volunteer groups to their on-site training locations throughout the course during Advance Week.

COMMITTEE CHAIRS: Andrew Kay & Kim Craig
One Walking Scorer will be assigned to walk with each group keeping the players’ scores, as well as certain statistics using a handheld scoring device. A few volunteers will be present as standbys in case a volunteer needs to be replaced due to injury, frequent errors, or absence.
