"Having previously studied computing at school, I wanted to further expand my knowledge on the subject. My previous teachers had recommended the college, and after my experience on a taster day I decided that the campus would be a good choice for me.

My favourite part of the course was the ability to analyse a variety of systems and be able to see how the hardware has developed over time. More practical modules throughout the years have been m preferred type as they allow for more independent learning.

The thing I like the most about studying at Petroc is the open availability of resources that students have access to. The library offers the majority of this, while the MOODLE is another great asset for students."

"I chose Petroc as it was close to home and the fact they offered the foundation degree part time. This was a huge deciding factor for me, due to not being able to fully give up working.

Computing couldn’t have been more different coming from a dance and performing background. I was always curious to how you have infinite opportunities to create applications at the touch of your fingertips with a computer.

IT and Computing as a sector, has a major lack of female presence and I wanted to help bridge the gender gap and encourage other women to do the same. I now volunteer as a STEM ambassador, by raising young people’s engagement and achievements in STEM subjects and careers.

The lecturers at Petroc were so helpful, it made my time studying there such a lovely experience. The campus is also lovely and not far from the town centre."
