An activity for you to try from home

Based on the exemplar videos of previous personal training students, we would like you to create your own exercise session. I recommend that you do your own further research on exercises and how to perform them. For your programme, you will need to include:

  • Warm up

    • Gentle to minimise risk of injury, but intense enough to raise the pulse (e.g. a jog around the park)

  • Main exercises

    • At least six exercises that can be performed at home, in the park, etc.

    • Decide the order these exercises will go in

    • Decide how many reps or how long each set will last for; if there is any rest after each exercise or after each circuit; and how many circuits you will use

    • Research some teaching points for each exercises

  • Cool down

    • At least three stretches to relax the muscles used in the main exercises

    • Between 10-30 seconds each

This month is centred around Fitness tests. You will find out how to test health your heart and body are, and where your store body weight. Watch the video below to begin.

August Content

This month we want you to get requited with the gym and create an hour long gym exercise using the resistance machines! Work through the slide below, watch the video and have a go at the task!
