Meet the Team

Our team of experienced lecturers, assessors, and technicians are here to help you on your way to becoming a successful industry technician. Find out more about the industry background of our team below.

Mark Glover - Faculty Manager

Mark has been with Petroc for 10 years and teaches students on level 1 courses through to level 3, including full time courses and on apprenticeship programmes. Prior to working at Petroc, Mark has spent his entire career in the motor industry, mainly within dealership settings. He is a member of the Institute of the Motor Industry, and qualified to work on modern Hybrid/Electric vehicles.

Peter Stapleton - Automotive Lecturer

Peter has been with Petroc for 20 years and teaches Level 1, 2 and Level 3 Maintenance and Repair. Pete has always been in the motor industry, having run his own successful garage business for 12 years. He is a keen follower of motorsport, and regularly marshalls at the Goodwood festival of speed.

Kevin Eve - Automotive Lecturer

Kevin has been working in the motor vehicle industry since school, first as an apprentice then as a technician for a major manufacturer. He ran his own garage for nearly 26 years and has now been with Petroc for the past 9 years.As a teacher / assessor he spends time with apprentices and visits their workplace conducting reviews and in an advisory capacity.

Shane Whalley - Body Repair Lecturer

Shane has been with Petroc for 8 years and teaches Vehicle Body Repair & Refinish. Shane teaches full time and apprentice students ranging from Level 1 - Level 3.
Shane has a strong passion for the department, always striving for excellence. Shanes main interests are aesthetically improving the look of vehicles and motocross.

Gary Leeds - Body Repair Lecturer

Gary has been with Petroc for 7 years and teaches all aspects of paint repair and refinish. Having trained and worked in main dealer bodyshops, Gary soon moved into operating his own body repair business. He still has his own business and specialises with classic car restorations.

Michael Hingston - Automotive Assessor

Mike has been with Petroc for over 22 years and prepares and assess our apprentices.

Nigel Maynard - Automotive Lecturer

Nigel has been with Petroc 15 years and teaches students on full time courses from Level 1 through to Level 3 as well as assessing Apprentices. Nigel also delivers the MOT courses for new MOT testers and MOT Managers. He has over 30 years experience in the automotive trade including spending time in the Royal Air Force and working for the RAC.

David Wyatt - Automotive Lecturer

David has been with Petroc 15 years and teaches Level 1 & 2 full time and Level 3 apprentices courses. David also delivers the L3 Hybrid-Electric vehicle and Air conditioning courses to to industry. David has over 30 years experience in the automotive trade.

Andy Clayton - Automotive technician

Andy has been with Petroc for 16 years and maintains all the workshops and equipment as well as preparing training cars for assessments.
