Welcome to A Level Physics!
An activity for you to try at home
We would like you to research the Joule, the Watt and the Coulomb.
Who invented them? What are their key ideas? Their key inventions? (You will meet several of these next year!)
What our students say about Physics A-Level
Jess, a previous A Level learner studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Geography, chose to study at Petroc after attending a taster day with her school. When discussing her A Level choices, she said:
I enjoyed the physical aspects of geography, learning about natural and tectonic processes. In physics, expanding on GCSE knowledge of circuits and electricity was really interesting. I really enjoyed engaging with the practical assessments as they were a good test of theoretical knowledge. I enjoyed the open schedule the college provided as it gave plenty of time to do independent study between classes. My aim is to be a Chartered Engineer after first studying Civil and Structural Engineering at Leeds University."
