Welcome to Petroc PACE +

A Level French

The information on this page will give you a flavour of what life is like studying French A Level at Petroc and help to expand your knowledge. Take a look around!

Start by working through the welcome presentation from one of our our lecturers, Rachael Hughes, and learn what the content you will be learning on the course.

Why not have a go at this month's activity and translate an English Song into French.

Once you are finished check out what else Petroc has to offer on the Life at Petroc page.

French A Level PACE

An activity for you to try at home

As mentioned in the above presentation, Rachael would like you to choose a well-known English song (no swearing please!) and then translate the chorus and the first verse into French.

When this is done, create a Google Slide with your translation on and share it with Rachael at rachael.hughes@petroc.ac.uk

Rachael will then compile a quiz with all of your offerings to share and play on the first week of term - and there will be prizes for the person who guesses the most songs correctly.

Enjoy!

July Content

Watch these three videos from A Level French lecturer Rachael Hughes

We would like you to watch the video (below) and make some notes about it. You may need to watch it more than once to get all of the relevant details down such as key dates and stats.

Now that you've familiarised yourself with the video, have a go at answering the questions in the form below!

You might also want to have a go at writing a short summary of some of the key ideas of the video in French. You don't need to include an exhaustive list of all of the statistics, but just the key ideas and themes mentioned. We can then discuss this when you start with us in September!
