What does it mean to be “patriotic”? Patriotism is defined as:
-having or expressing devotion to and support for one's country
Also consider:
“Real patriotism is a willingness to challenge the government when it's wrong.” -Ron Paul
“I love America more than any other country in this world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.” -James Baldwin
Our patriotic moments should show America at its best, and that can be:
people who have made the country great
people who have fought to change problems in the country
people who have stood up for someone or a group of people when others would not
