Google Maps

The Basics

What is Google Maps?

Google Maps is a tool that lets users view and navigate maps and satellite images. It also helps users get directions and plan routes, and in many locations it can show you a 360° picture of the world at street level.

Who Has Access?

All Perry Township Schools staff and students have access to Google Maps. Additionally, everyone can also edit and save their own maps to their Google Drive using the My Maps feature.

My Maps

My Maps is accessed either through your Google Drive, by launching the My Maps Chromebook app, or by going to https://www.google.com/mymaps. In My Maps, you are able to make a copy of the world map and create your own layers on top of it to mark important places. You can add descriptions and photos of the places you add to your maps, and create multiple layers that can be turned on and off.
