In 2nd grade they are learning so much. There are so many important things they are learning about. In science they are learning about animal classification and the traits that define each group. They will also be conducting research in a group. They are going to be reading a book called The Littles. They will be reading this after spring break. All of this is preparation for their field trip to the Turtle Back Zoo.

Second grade is working on som every fun projects. In ELA are they are reading Midnight on the Moon.  In science they are doing a plate experiment also in science they do severe weather and land forms.  For writing they have started learning opinion pieces, and in math they are adding and subtracting 3 digit numbers.

The book midnight on the moon is a children's fantasy adventure book where Jack and Annie travel to the moon . They must find the final "M" item to free Morgan Le Fay from a spell while exploring the lunar surface in spacesuits. 

In math they are adding and subtracting 3 digit numbers. They just started working on this and they have been working very hard.They have focused on place value hundreds, tens, ones using base 10 blocks.

Science Imagine a world with serious weather, land forms, and erosions on a plate. What will happen? Erosion is the natural process where Earth's materials like soil and rock are worn away and moved from one place to another.For second graders, it's often described as the "moving" part of Earth's constant change.

Second grade is such a fun and creative grade! There are many fun and creative things coming up for the second grade like candy houses.  Candy houses are when parents come and make gingerbread houses with their children!  Super sweet! They are also learning many exciting and fun activities in class. In ELA they are learning about Thanksgiving.  In math they are learning how to add and subtract with regrouping.
