INDIVIDUAL GAMES including but not limited to: tennis, golf/archery, racquet sports, bowling & dance ( bowling requires $20 & a permission form (refer to the panel to the left) therefore it is a privilege which can be revoked if student does not have a passing grade and/or chooses not to follow code of conduct/school rules)
TEAM SPORTS (softball, basketball, floor hockey, football, indoor games, volleyball)
ADVENTURE EDUCATION also requires a permission slip (refer to the panel on the left) & includes: low ropes, high ropes, climbing tower & team building activities. No prior knowledge is necessary to participate & although many of these events can be physically demanding, they are designed to be within the capability of the student.
Students will demonstrate the ability to use scientific principles to design and participate in a regular, moderate to vigorous physical activity program that contributes to personal health and enhances cognitive and physical performance in a variety of academic, recreational, and life tasks. Students will: investigate the benefits of physical activity; analyze the effects of physical activity on the body systems, the relationship between nutrition and physical activity, and the components necessary to design a fitness plan. This course is recommended for students interested in pursuing careers in kinesiology, health sciences, physical therapy, sports medicine, athletic training, personal training, nutrition, etc.
11th and 12th grade students only may select this activity. Students who select Sports Nite as a part of their physical education program are required to complete one of the evening events during Sports Nite weekend. Activities include dance routines, relay races, and fitness activities.

12th grade students only may select this course. Students will discuss current trends and difficulties with human relationships, social issues and human sexuality based on a variety of seminar scenarios and discussions. Topics may include: mental/emotional health, current issues affecting health, sexual health and identity, teenage pregnancy, STDs, values, decision making, communication skills, community resources, and knowledge and exploration of self.
