Germ Prevention Tips

Using JamBoard, second graders brainstormed ideas about germ protection & disease prevention.  We then read Reading Dragons Get Colds, Too by Rebecca Roan in which the character helps her dragon feel better when he gets sick and then provides Tips on preventing future illness.
Second graders then worked on their interpersonal communication and advocacy skills by writing Tips on how to keep their Dragons healthy, just like in the book.

How do you keep your body busy?

Busy Body

Students listened to a read aloud of The Busy Body Book and gave examples of what activities they like to do to keep their bodies busy.  We then used a Move Your Body Thumball to get our bodies moving and the oxygen flowing to our brain.  Students then created a skeleton with tape & paint and wrote a sentence about how they like to keep their bodies busy.
