1st Grade

As part of March Book Madness, all CES students heard the book BIG by Vashti Harrison.  This story has a great message about how we are more than the size of our bodies.  We are creative, kind, helpful and dancers - not "big" kids.   Words can hurt, even if the people saying them don't realize it.  Students drew pictures of how they view themselves and then came up with a word that described them that had nothing to do with their body.  

1st graders used their math skills to graph how many teeth the've lost and then worked on toothbrushes that showcase the steps and skills it takes to have healthy teeth!
