Health Education

Campton Elementary School students in grades K-8 participate in Health Education lessons and activities that cover a wide range of health related topics and skillsStudents are encouraged to relate the skills and knowledge they gain in class to their lives outside of school to enhance their overall wellness and that of their families and communities. 

In order for students to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for making life-long health decisions the SAU #48 Health Curriculum Guidelines, the NH Health Education Curriculum Guidelines, as well as the National Health Education Standards are followed and used in creating engaging content, activities, projects, and lessons in physical, social, mental, emotional, community, environmental, and personal health.

Some middle school students chose a quote and drew a picture to depict what that quote means to them.  Luck is great - but so is listening, asking for help, setting goals, staying focused, preparing, showing up, improving & making good choices!

Snow Globe Goals

3rd graders set some goals and intentions for 2024!  They wrote about & decorated their snow globes with the following:

  • Their name
  • 2024
  • Academic goal
  • Personal goal
  • Kindness goal
  • A word to describe the new year
  • A song or quote they love
  • Somewhere they'd like to visit in the new year

National Health Education Standard #6Students will demonstrate the ability to use goal-setting skills to enhance health.

Spread kindness this holiday season!  Students in 2nd & 3rd grade made it snow with these paper snowballs and words of kindness for their classmates.  "There's SNOWBODY like you!"

CES Red Ribbon Week

Special thanks to the NH National Guard Counterdrug program for including CES in the Red Ribbon Week Be Kind to Your Mind - Live Drug Free flyover with their black hawk on Wednesday October 25th.   

CES staff and students wore red in honor of drug prevention and created a Red Ribbon that could be seen from above.  Thank you to CTFD for joining us as well!

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign recognized during the last week of October to honor the life of fallen DEA agent Enrique Camerena (1985) and help bring awareness to drug prevention &  healthy choices. 

This year's theme of Be Kind to Your Mind - Live Drug Free inspired the ideas 4th & 6th graders wrote on these red ribbons.

June is a month to celebrate and be proud of who you are and respectful of everyone.

7th graders learned about the dangers of prolonged UVA & UVB radiation from the sun as well as prevention, detections & treatments for skin cancer.  Each 7th grader researched a specific apect related to skin cancer and created a PSA using an Instagram template.  

April 2023

CES is joing Action for Healthy Kids and celebrating Every Kid Healthy Week during our April vacation.  A form for loggin outside hours will be going home to families the week before vacation.  Return it to school after vacation for a chance to win some cool prizes!

International Day of Happiness 

CES students reflected on what brings them happiness & joy and added a smiley face to this bulletin board that talks about what we can do to find happiness in our lives.

In conjunction with Sandy Hook Promise, All CES students discussed the importance of acknowledging others and how a simple "hello" can brighten a person's day and make them feel seen and welcome, boosting their self-esteem and overall wellness.

Earth Day 2022

1st graders brainstormed how they could help the Earth and how the Earth helps us stay healthy.

1st graders have spent the past few weeks learning about the importance of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables and making a rainbow on their plates for optimal health.

American Heart Month

February 2022

6th graders practiced the skill of accessing valid and reliable information by using the American Heart Association's website, heart.org, to learn about different types of heart diseases and conditions.  They navigated the website to find information on prevention, signs & symptoms, testing, treatment and more.
