FAQ: Teacher Edition

How do I book a class in the library?

If you want to collaborate with the librarian, stop by the library or send an email to discuss the nature and needs of your class. The librarian will let you know when they are available and work with you to make sure the lesson aligns with the objectives of the project, unit, and/or course.

Can I send students to the library to do work during class or advisory?

It depends on the availability of the librarian and on whether other classes are using the library during that time. Please call down to the library to 1) make sure there are no classes that could be disrupted, and 2) the librarian is available to supervise the students before sending anyone down. Please do not send students down without checking with the librarian first.

Can I send students down to the library to get a book during class or advisory?

Yes. Please send students down with a pass. It is possible that I will be teaching or otherwise occupied. If this is the case, students should return to class and come back to the library another time.

Can students be sent to the library to use the printer during class or advisory?

Yes. Again, please send students down with a pass. Students should not be sent down to complete work on these computers as we have a limited number, but they are available for printing documents.

Can students use the computers in the library?

The computers in the library are reserved for printing, making a Help Desk appointment, and searching the library catalog. Students should not be sent to complete school work on these computers.
