Students can visit the library to check out a book or print something out in-between classes or if students have an active SmartPass. You can find a breakdown of the different types of library passes below.
Book Checkout - Pass must be accepted by librarian. Student needs to check out a book or have another face-to-face interaction with the librarian.
Book Return - This is a round trip pass. Student is returning a book and is NOT checking out a new book. Student does not need to interact with the librarian.
Printing - This is a round trip pass, but there is a limit of two passes at a time. Students are coming down to use the student computers to print. Students should have what they want to print ready to go. Students should not be completing work on the library computers.
Students can also request a pass to come during the advisory WIN blocks (select Book Checkout).
The computers in the library are reserved for printing, making a Help Desk appointment, and searching the library catalog. Students should use their Chromebooks to complete school assignments. If you need to print, create a SmartPass and choose the "Printing" option.
It's very simple! Bring the book(s) you want to check out of the library to the circulation desk and tell the librarian your name. The librarian will find you in the library's system and check out the book to you.
There is no limit to the number of books an individual can check out.
Sign into the digital library catalog using your school Google account, find a book you want to check out, and click the "hold" button. If the book is currently available, the library team will grab the book off the shelves, check it out to you, and email you when it is read to pick up*. If the book is currently checked out by someone else, you will get a notification when it has been returned and it is ready to be picked up.
*Please note that this could take up to a day depending on the library schedule.
The loan period for materials borrowed from the library is 20 days. After 20 days you will begin getting emails reminding you to renew or return your book. However, there are no overdue fees for late library materials.
If you lose a book or damage a book beyond repair, you are responsible for its replacement. You can either buy the library a new copy of the book, or pay for the book. If you are unable to replace the book, please speak to the librarian.
There is quiet lunch in the library that is run by the school's deans. Please check in with them to get permission to attend quiet lunch.
The library closes at 2 PM. However, the library may be booked by staff members and clubs to host meetings after school.
