Image of Ann Cunningham smiling at the camera, a hand on touching a low-relief sculpture of birds. She has dark hair and is wearing a dark top.
Ann Cunningham started as a low relief stone sculptor. It was this work which led her to question if pictures could be accessible through touch. Julie Deden gave Ann and her students the opportunity to test the boundaries of tactile art when she invited Ann to teach art at the Colorado Center for the Blind. The adventure is alive and well in our growing community of tactile/multi-sensory artists.
