You will upload lesson plans, videos, enter reflections, and more in your Candidate Field Experiences Portfolio
In addition to on-site responsibilities, each teacher candidate is responsible for the following:
Participate in the initial orientation meeting with the university supervisor and the cooperating teacher, and other administrative personnel, if applicable;
Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to school agency policies;
Obtain parent/guardian permission to complete assignments, including any video recording. Consult with the cooperating teacher to determine how the school district obtains permission;
Schedule an ongoing rotation of observations with both the cooperating teacher and the university supervisor. Select times to meet with cooperating teacher and university supervisor to discuss observations;
Video record 3 of your instructional sessions. Submit the video to your university supervisor and the cooperating teacher for feedback. Be prepared to discuss clips from your videos with your peers;
Maintain a Candidate Field Experiences Portfolio with all required files and ensure that it is always accessible to the cooperating teacher and university supervisor;
Attend and participate in online seminars;
Maintain ongoing bi-weekly contact with the cooperating teacher and university supervisor;
Prepare for and conduct lessons with support from the cooperating teacher. Be ready to discuss lesson follow-up;
Complete all required assignments with a passing grade; and
Complete all exit procedures, including a final meeting, and submit all necessary materials on time to the university supervisor and those required by Portland State University.
All information should be readily accessible to the Supervisor before on-site visits, online observations or viewing of prerecorded lessons.
