The field placement coordinator's job is to work with the student and the program coordinator to identify and secure appropriate field placements for students to practice and learn during their program. Since the VIL program is offered online and includes students from all over the country, the coordinator may need students to provide information about the services and school districts in their area.
Part of the coordinator's process involves securing a contract between PSU and the school district or agency where the student will be completing their practicum and student teaching. Additionally, the coordinator will collaborate with school district administrators to identify qualified cooperating teachers to mentor students in their placements.

Complete the VIL Field Placement Survey Form
Initial licensure students: TSPC fingerprinting/background clearance instructions. You MUST have provided the COE with your clearance before you are permitted to start any field experience.
The field placement survey is the very first step in triggering the placement process, which is why getting it completed and returned by the due date or as soon as possible is important.
All students completing a field experience MUST complete this process, even if you will be doing your placements on-the-job in your own classroom or school district.
