Learning Strategies is a credit course offered to students who demonstrate the need for improvement or support in literacy, self-advocacy, transitions, numeracy (math), and/or organizational skills. The course is one full semester in length.
With LS1 support, you will see your Special Education on a daily basis for 1 semester.
Students that are identified as exceptional through the IPRC process may take up to 4 Learning Strategies credits (GLE).
Students without a diagnosis or IEP may take up to 2 Learning Strategies credits (GLS1O and/or GLS 4O).
The following Learning Strategies courses are available for Cawthra Park students:
GLE1O - General Learning Strategies (for students with an IEP)
GLS1O - General Learning Strategies (for students without an IEP)
GLE2O - General Learning Strategies (for students with an IEP)
GLE3O - Advanced Learning Strategies (for students with an IEP)
GLE4O - Advanced Learning Strategies (for students with an IEP)
GLS4O - Advanced Learning Strategies (for students without an IEP)

When it's time for course selection, go to My Blueprint - High School Plan and add GLE1O, GLE2O, GLE3O, or GLE4O (it's listed under Guidance - Special Education)
