Plattsmouth Elementary School houses approximately 505 students, grades K-4, in a facility completed in 1996. The building is arranged in pods or learning communities. The elementary school program is based on the belief that education is a cooperative effort that requires strong support between the family, the community, and the school. Regular academic areas are taught by highly qualified teachers. Students also receive instruction from full-time staff members specializing in the areas of music, art, physical education, special education, Title I and reading, counseling, library/media, and computer education. Special features of the elementary school include full-day kindergarten, research-based instructional programs, a fully equipped media center, a gymnasium, a computer lab and classroom technology, modern playground areas, and an outdoor classroom.

We have interventions in place for struggling students, as well as HAL opportunities for our gifted students.
PES staff and students have made tremendous efforts with regards to safety and health!

Our Elementary blew it out of the water with our remote program this year.
Our school district has face-to-face options and remote options for students during Covid.
The remote students at the elementary have their own teachers
Our district supports students with academics AND with behaviors. We have resource teachers, school social workers, reading teachers, high-ability teachers, and more.
Our teachers have worked hard during this time making up the gaps with students at a variety of levels.
