Darkroom Photography
this term was our first back-to-face-to-face experience. We had scheduled classes on Thursdays and quickly realized that we all needed more time in the darkroom. Our SY Lab tech, Tatiana and myself begain spending more time over at SE in the lab supporting students by keeping the lab open for their use throughout the week in addition to hours over at SY on Wednesdays.
Students worked SO hard this term and learned a lot in a very short amount of time!
We will continue to offer remote and flexible options for students as we explore different modalities to bring film and darkroom photo to students in the next terms and over the next year. In the meantime, be sure that if you sign up for a darkroom class, you're going to want to make time to get into the lab and work - not only is it FUN but it is the BEST way to improve your photography skills!
The students this term created a tight-knit community, they helped each other grow and learn and were always generous in helping each other navigate any obstacles in or out of the class.
