Going into my photos, I want to capture images that are interesting and eye catching. By using what I learned from the class I was able to approach my image ideas with the thoughts I had and the technical aspects of elements of design, light sources, shutter speed, etc. I have realized that a lot of my photos revolve around balance, and I love to use bright and/or complementary colors wherever I can. During one of the classes I received feedback that my images should be taken with more intent of a specific meaning, and once I heard that I agreed completely. Most of the photos I’ve taken have just been for fun and I was missing out on the more powerful use of photography. I now try to convey deeper meanings through my work, while still keeping the eye catching and colorful aspects of my previous pieces. Although I play around with so much color, I always end up back at the creepier dark kind of photos somehow. I always feel like there are a lot more interpretations of the meanings of my pieces when they end up in that state. I feel as though I learn something new about photography everyday that constantly keeps me growing as a photographer and artist, and I can’t wait to see where I end up in the future.
