PDX Books Through Bars mails literature and educational books to adults in custody nationwide. We help liberate individuals experiencing incarceration through means of literature and educational materials.
OIP is the only project of its kind in Oregon whose sole mission is to actively track claims of innocence, investigate those claims, test DNA and other scientific evidence, and litigate where appropriate. As well as securing the release of people who have been wrongfully convicted, we provide an outstanding educational experience for students who work with us.
SOLVE mobilizes and trains thousands of volunteers across Oregon and Southwest Washington. Volunteers engage in cleaning and restoring neighborhoods and natural areas, fostering a legacy of environmental care and community involvement.
Street Roots is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization in Portland, Oregon, that publishes a weekly social justice newspaper sold by people experiencing homelessness and poverty to earn an income.
Transition Projects has delivered life-saving and life-changing assistance to some of Portland’s most vulnerable residents. Whether by helping a homeless veteran and her family find housing, sheltering hundreds of people each night with nowhere else to turn, or opening new pathways to employment, Transition Projects represents an invaluable part of Portland’s social fabric.
