About Me

I've been a car guy since before I could drive, and I've never stopped driving, moving from old British sports cars as a teenager to my first Porsche over 30 years ago.

How did you get into Porsche?

Growing up in Capitola my neighbor across the street had a '74 911 and a good friend's father commuted over Hwy 17 in a '72 914 for decades.

Why do you drive? What motivates you? Do you have any goals?

I drive for joy, with the top down whenever possible! Pushing myself and my car on the road has motivated me to buy a helmet so I can start doing AX this year, with track days likely after that.

What kind of Porsche(s) do you have or did you have?

Currently it's a 2010 C4S cabriolet with 26k miles. My first was a '69 911E and I also had a '80 911SC Targa, but the one that got away was a '94 Speedster with 12k miles.

What is your favorite style of driving? (Track day, Autocross, Mortoring...)

So far it's been Motoring. plus all the social activities, but 2024 is the year to explore AX and track days

Is there something your GGR members who may be reading this may not know about you? (car related)

At 16, I tore down and rebuilt the straight 6 engine in my first car - a 1952 Chevy Businessman's Coupe

For the Porsche enthusiast, can you share any tips from any or all of your Porsche?

Drive 'em hard, the way they were designed to be driven

Any Porsche stories you want to share?

If you get lucky enough to land a unicorn, like my '94 Speedster, don't let anyone or anything allow it to get away!

Any future drving or event plans? (drive, events, etc)

So many new roads to explore here in Napa county!

Do you have a favorite driver?

I'm old school - Derek Bell and Phil Hill

Are you currently working on a car project?

Just keeping the C4S cab looking sharp and running well

Is there a local auto shop you recommend?

I just moved to Napa so I'm looking for a recommendation here in the area myself!

What has been your favorite drive so far?

Hands down the Harris Ranch run down Hwy 25 - great mix of twisties and hi-speed straights

Do you have any tips for those looking to get into driving and/car event?

Don't be shy, come on out to any event! You'll find everyone's friendly, helpful and eager to talk about cars

What would you like to see the GGR club do?

One thing comes to mind - tech talks and clinics

Would you be willing to participate in a future Porsche events?
