Why Join The APR Mentoring Project?
If you are a novice special education personnel with 3 or less years of experience, you will be matched with a mentor in the same or similar role as you.
Mentors with 5 or more years of experience support our newest special education personnel and share resources, ideas, and practical information.
Mentoring pairs are expected to meet at least 30 minutes once a month from October to May.
Mentors and mentees met in-person at the APR Networking Event at the PA Department of Education conference in February 2026. Conference registration and one-night of lodging at the Hershey Lodge was paid for mentors and mentees that participated in this in-person Networking Event.
Implementation logs from past mentors and mentees explain the value of joining! Read what some of our mentors and mentees have to say about their participation.
The APR Mentoring Project is no longer accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. However, there are still valuable professional development opportunities available! Consider participating in an APR Networking opportunity to connect with fellow professionals or participate in the Middle School Learning Institute this summer to explore effective strategies for instruction, behavior, transition, and executive functioning. Stay engaged and continue growing with APR!
