Can my kindergartener audition for the all school musical?
No, our musical cast will start at 1st grade. We simply do not have the staff and resources necessary to properly assist kindergarteners during after school rehearsals.
Will there be a participation fee?
Yes, all after school activities at PPA require a participation fee. This fee goes towards costuming, makeup, meals, materials, scripts, and other show necessities. If you have any further questions about fees please contact Kayla Algrim.
Does my student stay after school for rehearsal?
Yes, students stay after school to attend rehearsal. Our rehearsals will always start at 3:40pm in the Main Theater.
What does my student need for every rehearsal?
Students will need their script, a pencil, water bottle, and clothing that is easy to move around in.
How many rehearsals can they miss?
In general, students may miss up to two rehearsals, anymore than that and we will need to discuss their participation in the show. The blocking, direction, and instruction occur at rehearsal so students need to be there, missing even one rehearsal can set back an actor. We want to be understanding of emergencies and sickness, however being in a show is a big commitment.
Can my student have a snack before rehearsal?
During Rehearsals there will be a window of time during which students can consume snacks and use the restroom prior to the start of rehearsal. Please send your child with an appropriate snack for their rehearsal days if they are cast.
Does my student stay after school for performances?
Yes, students stay after school to prepare for performances. Our call time during weekday performances is 4:00pm, so students will stay in their Driveline rooms until All Call, and then come down to the theater.
Does my student need a meal for performances?
We provide meals (lunch or dinner) for Super Saturday, Weekday Performances, and 2 Show Saturdays. We will send out the menu before the start of Super Saturday. If a student does not like the meal we have planned, they are welcome to bring a sack meal.
