Teachers will use the following tiered interventions to support positive behavior:
Tier 1 (Classroom-managed behaviors):
Verbal redirection
Proximity control
Visual or non-verbal cues
Reteaching expected behavior
Private student conference
Movement break or cool-down time
Parent contact (email, note, or phone call)
Tier 2 (Repeated or elevated behaviors):
Behavior reflection form
Daily behavior chart or point sheet
Teacher/Parent/Student conference
Assigned seat change
Temporary loss of privilege
Scheduled check-ins with staff support
Tier 3 (Ongoing or severe behaviors):
Office referral
Behavior intervention plan (BIP)
Collaboration with support staff (Dean, Counselor, Behavior Coach)
Functional behavior assessment (FBA)
Outside services (as appropriate)
