Acceptable styles include: ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, tap, folk dance, religious dance, dance ensembles (color guard/indoor guard), ice skating/dancing, or gymnastics floor routine
All choreography must be solely created by the entrant. The entrant is not required to be the performer or in the ensemble.
Additional performers and background music are allowed, but must be noted on the entry form.
Accepted short film styles include: Animation, narrative, claymation, documentary, experimental, flipbook, and stop motion.
All screenwriting, directing editing, and filming must be done solely by the entrant. All entries must be the student's original footage.
Slide show style videos are not allowed.
Additional performers and background music are allowed, but must be noted on the entry form.
Accepted entries may be prose, poetry, drama, reflective essay, narrative, short story
All writing and editing must be done solely by the entrant.
Accompanying drawings will not be considered by the judges. Students are encouraged enter drawings, with or without words in the visual arts category.
All instruments, sounds, styles, and combinations are accepted. Examples include: A Cappella, Blues, Choral, Country, Electronic, Hip hop, Jazz, Latin, Musical, Orchestral, Pop, R&B, Religious, Rock, Symphonic/Concert Band and Traditional.
The compositions must be created solely by the entrant. The entrant is not required to be the performer or in the ensemble.

Entries may be a single photo, panoramic, photomontage (one print of multiple original photos), a multiple exposure, negative sandwich or photogram.
Collages and photos with added graphics/lettering should be entered as Visual Arts entries as they are not allowed in the Photography category.
The entry must be the work of the entrant.
Architecture (2D/3D), carpentry, ceramics, collages, photographic collages (multiple photos cut/pasted), digital art and graphics (drawings/paintings/ illustration), crafts, design, dioramas, drawing, fiberwork, jewelry, kites, metal etching/punch work, mobiles, painting, printmaking, sculpture and wind chimes. Reproductions or enlargements of non-original artwork are not accepted.
The entry must be the work of the entrant.
Copyrighted elements, such as stock images and stickers, are not allowed unless those portions of copyrighted works are used to create a completely new and different work of art.
There are 6 Divisions in the PTA Reflections Competition.

Intermediate (3rd-5th)
Middle (6th-8th)
High School (9th-12th)
Accessible Arts-Elementary* (Pre-K - Grade 5)
Accessible Arts-Secondary* (Grade 6 - Grade 12)
