WHAT IS ORIENTEERING?
Orienteering is an exciting outdoor sport that combines running and navigation skills, challenging participants to find their way through a course using a map and compass. Competitors must locate a series of checkpoints in the fastest time possible, making strategic decisions about the best routes to take across varied terrain such as forests, parks, and urban areas. The sport develops physical fitness, problem-solving abilities, and spatial awareness, making it a great activity for students of all skill levels. Whether as a competitive race or a recreational challenge, orienteering promotes resilience, independence, and a love for the outdoors.
