Emma O'Day, Boca Raton senior, 2022 Palm Beach County Runner of the Year for Cross Country and Sun Sentinel 2022 Runner of the Year.
O'Day completed a stunning postseason in which she won the Palm Beach County Championship, district, region and state championship.
O’Day credits Bobcats’ girls’ coach Sara Stewart with planning a race strategy to win the first individual cross country title, boys or girls, in school history. O’Day also credits freshman, Katelyn O’Brien, for pushing her.
“Working hard does pay off,” she said. “All of the sacrifices were worth it. I like running because I am the one that solely has control over it and I am responsible for my own success, except for my coach.”
