Act 126 of 2012 ("Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training") amended the Public School Code of 1949 to mandate that all school entities and independent contractors of school entities provide their employees who have direct contact* with children with a minimum of three hours of training every five years on Child Abuse and Sexual Misconduct Recognition and reporting and every five years for Professional Ethics and Educator Discipline Training
PALCS requires this training for all employees. New Hires will have 90 days from their hire dates to complete this training.
There are two separate, three hour training's that must be completed to fully satisfy ACT 126 requirements.
These trainings are Training 1: Professional Ethics and the Educator Discipline Act and Training 2: Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse: Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania Online Training. Directions for registering and completing each training may be found below.

Once logged in:
Select "My SAS Tools" in upper right hand corner
Select "PD Center"
Near the bottom of this screen will be a field that says "Quick Search". Type in the seach term, "Act 126"
This will filter your options to the following:

This seems to be an issue with the PDE SAS site. While they are rectifying this issue (hopefully), you will need to contact their help desk at the following link to seek assistance in registering for the training.

If you need to get an additional copy of your certification after completing the course, follow these steps:
Click the button in the upper right corner that says "<Your name> SAS Tools"
In the following drop down, select "PD Center"
On the next screen, select "Menu" in the upper right hand corner.
In the next drop down, select "My Past Classes"
You will see all of the classes you have taken through SAS. Locate the classs that you need the certificate for and select the "Option" box to the right, then select view certificate.
The certificate will then populate as a PDF in another screen and you may save it to whatever location you choose on your computer. If you have been asked to upload it by HR, please click here for directions on how to upload these documents to Paycom.

Upon completion of each training, the employee will be provided a certificate of completion. Please click here for directions on how to upload these documents to Paycom. The date of completion will be recorded in PAYCOM and you will receive an automated notification 90 days prior to the expiration date of the current training that includes instructions on how to register again.
