Transportation

Public transport in Cph

Public transportation in Copenhagen consists mainly of three means of transportation; metro, bus (incl. harbour busses) and trains (regular trains and S-trains).

You can access them with the same ticket. Most of your travel within the city center will be within two zones. Travels between the city center and Copenhagen Airport covers three zones.

You can purchase tickets from ticket machines, from sales counters at many train stations and in a number of 7 Eleven kiosks. Not all ticket machines accept cash, but you can always pay with the most common credit cards.

Alternatively you can download the app "DOT Mobilbilletter". Once you have downloaded the app, click on "Indstillinger" (settings) in the right hand lower corner and click on "English" under "Sprog" (language). Then you will get the English version of the app. From there you can select the fare you need and enter your credit card details.

It might also be helpful for you to download the app “Rejseplanen”. This app can help you with your travel itinerary. You can enter your location and destination, and the app can give you a thorough guide to the relevant means of transportation on your fare.

Similar to "rejseplanen", another great app to download is "moovit". The moovit app works all over the world and is very helpful if you are a frequent traveller. By telling the app which country/city you are visiting, this transit app will provide you information of any kind of public transportation available from your location to your desired destination.
