Web and social Media
I had the honor this year to be asked to produce and edit the SALSTHON video reveal on my own. SALSTHON is a student-led fundraising event hosted by Salesianum School as well as Ursuline and Padua, benefiting local charities and making a meaningful impact in the community. Each year, the reveal video builds excitement by announcing the beneficiary for the year. Being entrusted with this project was a huge opportunity to use and editing skills to create a powerful and inspiring video. It was an incredible experience to contribute to such an important cause through my work.
In our feed, we post the videos that the staff has created to showcase what’s been happening around the school. Since we started this initiative, we’ve noticed a significant increase in views. The student body loves to be showcased, and these videos highlight their involvement, achievements, and school events. It's been rewarding to see how the content we create connects with the students and gives them a platform to be featured. The positive response shows that our work is resonating with the community, making it even more motivating to continue sharing these stories.
In one of our posts, we showcased the leaders who attended the JEA National Conference in Philadelphia. The post highlighted the sessions we attended, the connections we made with other student journalists, and how the conference helped us grow as leaders in our field. It was a great opportunity to reflect on our experience and share it with the school community, inspiring others to get involved and pursue their own passions in journalism.
Using this platform, we post upcoming events for the school, ensuring students and staff have easy access to important announcements they might have missed. This helps keep everyone informed about upcoming activities, meetings, and special events, making it convenient for the school community to stay up-to-date. By sharing these details in our posts, we ensure that no one misses out on opportunities to participate or be involved in the school’s happenings
