Give

This aspect will be explored and developed by the pastoral team and form part of form time and PSHCE activities.

Do something nice for a friend, family member or neighbour.

Thank somebody. Smile. Look out, as well as in. Seeing yourself, and your happiness, linked to the wider community can be incredibly rewarding and creates connections with the people around you.

Some supporting resources are shown below.

Acts of kindness

This section will expand with a growing number of 'acts of kindness'.

  • Random acts of kindness during the Coronavirus outbreak - is an article from the Mental Health Foundation and has lots of good ideas.

  • The British Red Cross has a set of free and engaging online resources for children and young people to do at home during the coronavirus lockdown which explore and promote the value of kindness. To support you during this crisis they will be regularly publishing new resources for teachers, parents or learners themselves. (Added 01.05.20)

Charity

Our students are keen to support charities and, in the past, have raised a lot of money through a wide range of activities.

At this time many charities are struggling so this section will highlight ways in which we can help - and also give some examples of where we have engaged.

Cooking and baking

Anybody would be grateful for the gift of a cake or the offer of a meal prepared for them. It is the intention that the list below will grow with suggestions from students and staff.

e-Cards

  • Sending e-Cards is a quick and easy way to let people know you are thinking of them. There are various ways of doing this for free.

For example, if you like Quentin Blake (illustrator for Roald Dahl, ... ) then you can send some of his designs, via email, for free. There are cards for many different occasions. Quick and easy! You can also explore lots more on his website. (Added 22.04.20)
