WHO WE ARE PART 2 - GROWING AS LEARNERS

We are changing as learners!!! Celebrating our Published Authors!!

Our amazing Kindergartners are learning the unit “WHO WE ARE - Part 2” focusing on the central idea - “ We are changing as learners”. They are making connections of the impact of using tools and resources in and out of the school.They use what they know and realize the effect of it to their learning (CAUSATION). Using the tools and resources enable them to become more independent which is the focus of the unit.They are continuously noticing how they change as learners on a daily basis. They were able to compare themselves from September to now (March / April) and elaborate on what has changed / improved.

Math

Kindergartners are learning their numbers 1 - 100. They noticed that in the beginning of the school year they can only count to 20.Now,they are confident enough to count and write to a hundred using the tools and resources available for them in the classroom.They are counting to 100 in various ways - counting by 1s and 10s.

Social Studies

Kindergartners celebrated Women’s History Month. They took home a booklet of questions that portrayed their moms or mother figures that live in the household.They realized the impact of their moms / mother figures and the changes they bring to their family,community and to the world.

Science

Kindergartners were introduced to the new unit - Materials and Motion. In learning the world of wood, kindergartners listened to the story of a chair. They were inquirers when they were discussing the changes that took place to a wood before it turned into a chair.

Kindergartners celebrated St. Patrick's Day!!!
