WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF KINDERGARTEN WHERE LEARNING IS FUN!
In February, our amazing Kindergarteners explored the unit “Sharing the Planet” by learning about influential African Americans and the positive impact they have made on the world. During Black History Month, they strengthened their research skills and described these individuals’ accomplishments using the learner profiles introduced at the beginning of the year, with many identifying as “Risk Takers.” They also learned about important February events, including Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, and the significance of Black History Month. In Science, students studied trees and weather, learning how seasonal changes affect living things and describing activities connected to each season. In Math, they celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing up as 100-year-old grandparents. As a culmination of the unit, they proudly hosted a Children’s March of 1963 presentation, honoring influential African Americans and sharing their hard work with families.
February is Black History Month
Our Kindergarten students showcased their learning for Sharing the Planet by exploring famous and influential African Americans. They listened to stories and learned about the important contributions these individuals have made to our world. The students showed curiosity as they asked questions and shared what they learned with their classmates. This exploration helped them better understand the importance of fairness, respect, and making a positive difference. It was wonderful to see their growing awareness and engagement during this meaningful unit.
Valentine’s Day Cookie Decorating Activity

We ❤️ our K101 friends!!
Kindergartners proudly hosted their own version of the Children's March of 1963, inspired by the historic Birmingham CHILDREN'S CRUSADE. With bright smiles and determined little steps, they marched together to celebrate peace, fairness, and equality for all.
The children carefully created meaningful posters decorated with hearts, rainbows, and powerful words about kindness and justice. As they walked, they joyfully sang This Little Light of Mine, their sweet voices filling the air with hope and unity. Each child proudly held a make believe candle, symbolizing the light they carry inside - a light of love, courage, and respect for others,
Though small in size, their message was big and powerful. Through their marching and singing, they showed that even the youngest voices can stand up for what is right and shines brightly in the world.
We can all do many of the same things!
100th Day of School
Our Kindergarten students had a wonderful time celebrating the 100th Day of School on February 11, 2026. To make the day extra special, students dressed up as if they were 100 years old and showed great creativity with their outfits. Many enjoyed using fun props such as canes, walkers, glasses, mustaches, bow ties, and shawls to complete their looks. The classroom was filled with laughter and excitement as we took part in activities to mark 100 days of learning. It was a joyful celebration of how much the students have grown and learned together this year.
