Ms. McWilliams' class visited older grades for their showcase. We learned about holidays and endangered animals.
Ms. E's class did some drawing and reading during library time!
Students have been learning about holidays and traditions. We have discussed how these experiences shape who we are, how they make us unique, and how they make us similar.
In our next unit, students will learn about how we interact with plants and animals. We will discuss how we rely on them and how they rely on us. This includes how we protect the environment.
Mrs. Young's class made their own graphs as part of our math unit about data collection. They also voted on whether the groundhog would see his shadow on this upcoming Groundhog Day!
Each class made a bulletin board showing ways to demonstrate respect. Some ideas students had were to speak kindly to each other, clean up of the earth, and take care of our bodies.
Some first grade students were awarded for their outstanding communication skills. This includes not only being able to express yourself well. It also means showing respect by listening when others are speaking.
