This month, the third-grade students are focusing on balancing the increased rigor of the third-grade curriculum. Students are being reflective when preparing for the upcoming state exams.

Taking a chance to zoom out and review their own errors with their peers has given them the opportunity to apply corrections and their knowledge to the following lessons.

IB - Where We Are in Place and Time : As part of our Where We Are in Place and Time unit, the students explore how Roz, a robot, adapts to and becomes part of a new community. This supports our central idea that each world community has its own unique history to share in different ways. Through Roz's journey, students reflect on how stories, experiences, and connections help shape identity and build community- even in unexpected places.

The 3rd grade small group has been working hard for the past few months to prepare for the state test.
Our Third Graders are taking charge of their learning by leading small groups discussions and mini lessons. They also build confidence, collaboration, and student agency. As students teach one another, they're learning to communicate their thinking clearly- as essential skills that connectes to the theme. Every voice in the classroom matters, and these young leaders are proving just that!
