In this engaging unit, kindergarten students explore the ‘who we are’ unit by connecting the world of different seasons and their trees. Activities included identifying parts of an apple and making fall trees with different colored leaves. Through art, hands-on activities, and interactive read-aloud, students were able to deepen their understanding of fall trees and apples. They developed a sense of connection to the world around them and how each season brings its unique characteristics. People, too, have unique characteristics. The fall season contributes vibrant leaves, and we have different traits that add value to our community.

Our incredible kindergartners visited the local farm. At the farm they examined their pumpkins and discuss how the pumpkins are alike and different.
